I just purchased a SAMSUNG SIR-T451 ATSC HDTV TERRESTRIAL TUNER. I have a silver sensor antenna iun the attic that is pulling in 5 channels nicely. Question is how do I run my comcast (basic cable)signal in as well so I get both OTA HD and standard cable channels all using one input/remote? Is this doable or do I have to use two inputs and swap back over from my ant input on my tv to my dvi input on my tv everytime?

Thanks,
Brian

I'm 99% sure that you'll have to switch inputs because last time I checked, cable boxes didn't have OTA tuners. If that is a problem switch to Satellite HD, their boxes seamlessly incorporate OTA channels and have built-in tuners. The OTA channels also show up in the guide and have info as well.

That could change when the DBS providers start doing local digital off the satellite. The FCC should mandate ATSC tuners for all cable and DBS receivers.

A/B switch...yuk :p I guess i will use two inputs so I can switch from my remote

Many modern TVs provide an Antenna A and an Antenna B hookup for just your situation. Check your TV owner's manual for possible hookup configurations.

Ya thats the plan, plug my basic coax cable from comcast into my TV in coax input A then hook the OTA tuner up to DVI/optic sound. Only problem is I will have to switch inputs from dvi to ant-A for all channels unlike when I was on direct tv when the menu flowed from OTA to regular dish. I'm suprised the samsung tuner doesnt have a coax input in the back so you can scroll through channels from basic cable and what you receive on OTA antenna.
