Combining C/Ku LNBF's

Yes I guess you would need dual LNBFs or dual LNB type feed horns.
One has to get creative with the different switches etc to make things work... can get rather complex! :)

I'm up and running with the following setup (below) using 2 C/KU combo lnbf's and two new Ecoda 22khz switches connected to one 1x4 diseqc switch. One lnbf has a dialectic plate to pick up circular signals while the other does not which allows for maximum signal pickup for hard to tune satellite in signals. The problem I'm having now is with the dish actuator motor arm that appears to be affected by the cold. Once I move the dish past 45.7 east it gets stuck and I cannot get it to go back west unless I go out to the dish and force it. Once this happens the satellite dish position are off and I need to re-aim the whole arc again. Maybe I will look into a stronger dish actuator motor instead of the cheap $70.00 version I got off ebay. (Edit) On my receiver I changed the settings for C-band to use 22khz off and for KU band I changed the 22khz setting to on as well as changing the port for the 1.0 diseqc setting.

what kind of satellite box are you using, been out of fta for a while. what is a good satellite box for C/KU band?

Sorry, been AWOL for awhile. I just spend several days scanning in all my channels and do to the freezing cold in Minnesota my actuator has been getting stuck and throwing off the numbers on my ASC1. Hours uppon hours waisted as I have to do It all over again. For now I'm dead in the water until spring unless I can find an actuator heater. Anyone know where I can source an 24" actuator heater?

I'm using 3 different receivers, an Openbox Z5, a TechnoMate 5402 and a Vu+ Solo2 SE clone.

Wrap it in heat tape, like you buy for water lines. Then insulate on top of that some how to hold the heat in. Just take it off as soon as it is warm enough, so trapped moisture doesn't cause rust.

Lubricants in the gearbox and on the screw may also be freezing up. There are lubes made to work in cold environments and that would be something I'd look at also. And if there's any moisture inside the screw that might cause it to freeze up also so make sure the inner shaft seal is working.

Then you could always move SOUTH!!:imshocked
 
MN Vikings : Instead of reprogramming the whole arc you should be using the realign feature in the Asc1. That's what it is for. Check the manual for more info. Even old analog receivers had that feature.
