coax connetor

Hi everyone,
I'm new at this so please bear with me. When I unplug the connector in from satellite on the back of the reciever, I get a signal for a while then it goes looking for a signal. Also all the channels don't come back.
We have another tv in the living room thats working fine. One LNB on dish with a switching devise.
Where with Direct TV.

Leave it connected don't unplug it and it should work.

This is the most bizarre post I have ever seen. How could you possibly expect a signal when you disconnect the satellite in?
