Yes dropped to a lower package sure, not simply dropping an RSN. And the credit is for CNN not for the RSN.

It's about precision in language. You can't cancel an RSN and keep the rest of your package. What you did is drop down to a package that doesn't include an RSN. That works out because the difference between 120 and 120+ is just the RSN. But if you had had a higher package, say 200 or 250, you can't "cancel" an RSN. Subs wishing to do so would have to drop to the 120 package and lose all the extra channels other than an RSN that make up those higher packages. After all this, you stated my original statement. I canceled my regional sports networks and got a credit for losing cnn. Wow lol.
Feel free to call and get your bill reduced. I got $10 off for the next three months. I have a hard time believing these channels cost me more than a dollar or two a month.Wait. What Charlie said was that not doing business with Turner would save lots of money and our rates may not go up because of it. If that is true, okay. But who believes that? No one in their right mind. Rates will continue to rise as surely as the sun rises. What the truth is is that Charlie is not paying Turner but neither is he reducing our rates. He raises our rates when providers raise theirs but does not reduce our rates when he does not have to pay them. What is happening is that he is pocketing all the savings from not paying Turner and it is as simple as that.
If my bill is reduced all is good but I doubt next month's bill will be less than when I had the Turner channels. Charlie is simply getting richer, pocketing the cash saved and providing nothing to subscribers equal to the loss. He even is intimating that the loss of TNT and TBS might not be a big deal. See, he does not even understand. But if that happens, I'm gone!

some channels will not be coming back right away or at all.Hmm lets see did your rates go up when channels were added this year? Do want to pay more immediately when channels are added? Then complaining when they don't go down if channels are dropped makes no sense.
But worse for your thinking, most people who ask DO get a temporary reduction often more than the actual cost.
There is one wrinkle. The fussing back and forth to limit price increases never leads to lower prices (because they are still increases). However, if a block of 6 or 7 channels just goes away, that is a notable drop in an expense for Dish. It may only be a couple bucks per sub, but there would be a drop. Now, whether this drop is larger than other increases due to other contract negotiations is unknown. But there could at least, in theory, be a price drop if a large block of national channels were dropped.Hmm lets see did your rates go up when channels were added this year? This is diplomacy people. Does anyone expect Ergen to say "Dish can't live without Turner!!!" These are negotiations and there will be diplomatic speak out there. To me, losing Cartoon Network and TCM would be a game breaker and I'd likely pull the plug on typical pay-tv. But you shouldn't expect Ergen to say that.

Dish Network’s Charlie Ergen Calls Loss Of CNN And Turner Nets A “Non-Event”http://deadline.com/2014/11/dish-ne...loss-cnn-turner-channels-nonevent-1201273061/
Nor do I. Even if they permanently drop Turner, there will still be other programming price increases to factor in. Think CBS.I'm realistic, I don't expect a price drop, and actually not what Charlie said it was there would be no increase.
I guess you haven't been reading in many places. This Turner feud has turned out so far to be one big ho-hum. Nothing I've read indicates that it is hurting Dish much at all.i was originally gonna say 4 weeks top, but with Charlie's new anti-Turner comment, i can see this dispute lasting 6 months to 2 years now. and this is really gonna hurt Dish in the long term. it's already hurting them in the short term. plus Turner has already started using the SaveMyShows.com site to tell people to switch providers. that's something that was missing in the opening days of the dispute. i'm ready for Government intervention to these contractual disputes or make it easier for us in rural areas get TV via internet.

Not for me, CNN is important to me and mine!I disagree, I think this hurts Turner more than it hurts Dish. I actually agree with Charlie that so far this has been a nonevent as far as Dish is concerned.
I can appreciate that. But after you listen to the 20 minutes of actual news on a given day, what do you watch then? Not for me, CNN is important to me and mine!
