Well boys and girls, according to my callendar it is now October.

Wasn't ChillerHD supposed to be launched by now? Weren't we supposed to have it by Halloween?

Time is getting close.

Yeah I thought that we might see some of the Viacom HD Channels added by now as well..

I bet we see 10+ HD channels announced or launched...

...The day Dish releases an abysmal quarterly report, sometime in early November. "Revenue was down, subscribers were down, and profits nonexistent, but we added HD"

What exactly is ChillerHD? What kind of programming do they have? I have been hearing the name a lot recently but have no idea what it is.

And because it's part of NBC it will be loaded down with commercials and most of the shows will probably be edited.

Mario

Edited is an understatement to say the least. Butchered is a better word.

And dare I say, not a substitute for MonstersHD. Damn how I miss that one!

Man I am with you to a T. This is no substitute, I wish something would get worked out and MonstersHD would go somewhere else or come back.

Up until a couple of days ago, the Chiller website had "HD coming soon" now it is no longer there. I wonder if this means it is almost here or if they have postponed the HD launch again (for about the 3rd time)

I was visiting my Dad in North Jersey last weekend and he has Cablevision with Voom, it was great to watch Rave, Monster and Equator again! Wish they would have worked something out by now, I miss those channels.

I saw that commercial they always play for their directing contest, where they usually say "in HD" at the end, and this time they didn't. So, I'm kind of thinking the same as you.

Did you guys notice THIS:

Emerging nets moving to New York - Entertainment News, Web Exclusive, Media - Variety

Quote:

On July 23rd, 2008 Variety reported that Sleuth, Universal HD, and Chiller are moving from Los Angeles to New York; when the channels movement is complete, Sleuth and Universal HD will report to USA Network, while Chiller will report to SCI FI.

That probably means that CHILLERHD has been canceled for now. It also means that once Sciffy gets ahold of programming for it, they'll trash it for sure, and we'll end up with a Sciffy clone, and more WCF rasslin', and cheesy new movies with CRAP cgi. (As opposed to old movies, with crappy old-school effects!)

And/Or they show half of all the series, and then put them on hiatus for a year, before showing the second half! :D:D

I loved Monstershd but have not watched more than 5 minutes of Chillerhd. I hate that the movies are edited with commercials. If Monsters isn't added my next channel would be IFCHD. They show some horror movies that are commercial free and unedited.

I cant find the post, but someone posted about a month ago saying that nbc/universal wasnt launching anymore hd versions of channels this year.
I will try to find that info.

I've noticed some of the stuff that used to show on MonstersHD is now showing up on Cinemax and MGM. I sure do miss MonstersHD...

I am with you on that one, I did notice some of the movies but there are no marathons that are all horror like Monsters had.
