According to The Hollywood Reporter, Winchester is on board to star in NBC's upcoming Chicago Fire spinoff as its first official cast member.The network has yet to order a pilot for the show, but Chicago Law will likely make its debut through a backdoor episode during one of the other Chicago series, much like how NBC handled its two preceding spinoff shows, Chicago PD and Chicago Med.Earlier this month, NBC announced renewals for Law & Order: SVU and Chicago Med, which enter their eighteenth and second seasons, respectively. Chicago Fire and Chicago PD have been renewed for the 2016-17 season as well.
