My Directv contract is up next month and I wasn't too happy when they jacked up my rates 1/2 way through my contract. Now I'm looking at my options. I was an unwitting Hopper beta tester when it first came out over 4 years ago. It was very flaky. I could only set to record 30 different programs (DISH people refer to this as timers) and at that point I couldn't even record something I was currently watching. I assume that issue has been resolved?
The other feature I'm after is ease to skip commercials. Directv has a button that you press a number of times X 30 seconds to skip and a multi-level speed fast forward button. What are the commercial skip options on the new Hopper? Does DISH have multiple feeds of major tennis tournaments like Directv?
