I have a problem with my 322 receiver that started yesterday. The problem is: One TV will state requiring signal yet it never does. Then, TV #2 will do the same. I cannot operate TV#1 and TV #2 at the same time. when I contacted Dish Network, they stated that I would have to have a tech come and fix the check switch problem. I will be upgrading to a ViP 722 on Wednesday. The new receiver may not remedy the problem, but I am willing to give it a try. Any sugestions appreciated.

Need more info. Do you have any HD receivers now?
Is a tech coming out to install the 722?
Is the 722 replacing the 322 you're having problems with?

If a tech is coming out on Wednesday to do the upgrade, then maybe this post was a waste of time......

Sorry, I didn't want to make the post a diatribe. I have a ViP 622 DVR. I planned to install the ViP 722 myself (I was informed by DN that I could). Yes, the ViP 722 is replacing the 322 receiver.

Have you done a hard reset (unplug the 322 for a minute or so)? I'm sure that if you have called Dish, they made you do that. Might be worth it to try disconnecting the dish to receiver coax and run a check switch that way to clear the check switch memory.

good luck, Eric

Maybe the case of having a bad line from the dish to the reciever in that location. I'd try and swap existing recieving locations and see if the problem follows.

If its a location problem then I'd start by looking at the line, could be something simple as a staple that pierced the line on the exterior and had water intrusion or to non-rated barrel/wallplate in the line.

I would put in the 722 and make sure you install it corectly, that it downloads the software, and after the software download RUN ANOTHER CHECK SWITCH. If it works, then you know the 322 receiver was bad.

If not, it does sound like you have a bad line of connector in the cable going to it.

If you switch the recivers around, and the problem stays with that location, you know it's probably in the line somewhere.

Are ROM Cards Unique?

625 acting up again, options?
