Dish is moving Portuguese language channels off of the satellite and they'll be exclusively available on streaming. However, it seems like you can't recording streaming channels? Does anyone know if this will always be the case? Are any other receivers able to record them?

For a household that exclusively uses Portuguese channels, this greatly reduces the value of having the service. Tuning to a streaming channel is also painfully slow. Is this any better on the Hopper 3?

If you have a Hopper3 and have the latest software, H388, you will now be able to record 1 streaming channel at a time.

That's great news. Sounds like its a CPU intensive task. Do you know if it's coming to the Hopper Duo too?

Any idea what the cost is to go from the Hopper Duo to Hopper 3, in terms of one-time fees and monthly fees?

It's possible it is already available on the Hopper Duo provided it has the latest software. That software would probably be H*88. You could test that right now by going to one of the streaming channels already streaming, say 96-06. Bring that channel up in the guide and go to a future program and click on it. If it is recordable you will get a drop down list that will include Record This and Record Series.

I have the Jade TVB Cantonese package and one of the channels is 626-01 which is TVB Jade 1 that basically has 3 versions SD, HD, Streaming, the former had been there since 2020 or so and the streaming was within the last year. I normally record the SD to save HD space which will no longer be the case. When I tune to the SD and HD versions, there is still programming shown but when I first change to the channel, it will say, this channel has moved and no longer available by satellite, please goto the streaming channel. So atleast in this case, the satellite based feed is still available, not sure for how long before they shut it off and this is on 118.
