Channel Number changes - Current TV & G4 12/3

From DirecTV:

Current TV will be on channel 358 (formerly on 366)

G4 will move to channel 310 (formerly on 354)

The guide may say "To Be Announced" until then but there will be messages onscreen and in the on screen guide once the changes take place.

Sorry guys, I doubt the move is to provide more HD.

Also 12/3 VS and Golf HD will split from 604 to thre respective stations on 603 & 605.

What are they putting on 604 at this point once the seperate channels are up ?

I thought Golf and Versus aren't supposed to split until 12/8 (per Comcast Networks:)

just checked the guide and VS HD / Golf HD have separate channels (603 / 605) with "sign off" for the program listing, and 604 is gone. I'm guessing since no bandwidth is saved they'll probably leave it empty.

I think it was to get G4 out of the number area where news channels are and to move Current into the news channel range.

Side note, I believe G4 is set to go HD on 12-8-08 (lost, heroes etc) with their signature shows (x-play and attack of the show) sometime next summer. Any word if Direct will go hd on G4's launch date?
