you dont have to renew...after the 1 year it goes month to month
Right but I plan to cancel service once that year contract is up and sell my unit. I will miss some of the TIVO features, but will save money by using the cable companies dvr. If this new CM DVR is something special I will get one. I just hope is does have all of the features and apps the customers have been asking for. They could give TIVO a run for their money if it's a stellar product.
I've bought 2 HD TiVos with Lifetime and upgraded the internal 160GB hard drives to a 1.0GB and a 1.5GB.
I use them for all my OTA recordings.
The lifetime service pays for itself in less than 2 years - after that it's all gravy.
one or the other...there is only one input
so its 4 digital cable OR 4 OTA tuners
Which is why I will never be buying a Roamio. I receive nearby markets via OTA and need to have the unit tune both digital cable and OTA. Therefore we are limited to the TivoHD and Premiere 2-tuner models. Not happy about this...
....They don't mention if there is a fee associated with the guide data.
Not so odd now. I haven't seen any new TVs with PSIP (EPG) support, other than current program info. Nearly all TVs had an EPG a few years ago but not now....... Oddly, I have a TV that does not supply PSIP....
