I finally got time to install a past dish find.

I downloaded the installation pdf for the dish and they discuss Longitude and Delta L difference of Satellite Longitude.

Looking at the grid, if I'm looking at it right, a stationary dish for 39.6 has an elevation of 75 degrees. Is this wrong, did I do my math wrong or miss something?

I'm getting 0 quality on an LNB I used earlier today on a 1 m dish set on 97.

I'm trying to hit 105 them swap out to mini bud lnb.

It is a Transmit Receive 1.2 M dish with very long lnb legs that CM proclaims better reception and less bleedover from adjacent sats.

There is a chart on the installation manual that makes me question the dishpointer dot com suggestions. I got no quality of any type using dishpointer settings.

The chart for elevation on the pdf attachment above gives confusing/unclear elevation instructions and that is why I posted the attachment with the question. The chart title has this text at the top [File is "Instalacion-CM" so I'm guessing there is a typo using site Longitude when the chart discusses site latitude. (I cut and pasted the text below except for Delta Symbol)

"(Delta Symbol) L" IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE EARTH STATION
ANTENNA SITE LONGITUDE AND THE SATELLITE LONGITUDE

The chart on page 10 calculates elevation. For 40 degrees (actual 39.6 lat 84.1 lon) (Delta Symbol) 75 degree line dips to 3 degrees. So do I subtract 3 from 75 and set my elevation to 72 degrees?

The chart is a paper based method for determining the elevation angle based on the installation location's longitide and latitude. Remember that even 10 years ago we did not have easy access to aiming calculators. I carried a laptop and GPS with me so I could run satellite finder software.

If the elevation scale on the TX/RX CN 1.2M is used along with any online calculator (shameless plug: www.GeoSatFinder.com ), the mast is plumb, level and the LNBF support arms are not bent, the dish elevation angle will be within a few degrees. This is based on my experience with many installations of this model.
 
Pole was straight and plumb and used for 97 before I decided to switch out to the 1.2 M

Well it appears I'm on 105 KU band. I'm getting a soccer game posted on a backhaul feed at the symbol rate etc...

I read in some other forum (maybe even a thread here) about beam offset. Got impatient pointed to compass heading and used power drill on elevation until I got signal. Hit 99% on the data transponder shown on "THE LIST."

Used the geosatfinder (Thanks it helped, not a joke) just tweaked for my situation. 39ish + 23ish (beam offset) 62ish for elevation.

Switching to C-band tomorrow. But for tonight I'll watch and hope USA beats Mexico.

I love power tools!
