Changing Rooms

Hello folks,

I'm trying to move my dish network/tv setup into another room. Just curious, will I need to schedule a maintenance tech to come in and do that for me? As soon as I tried plugging into a different wall jack I received the acquiring satellite screen. Let me know, thanks!

Yes, you will need a tech to come out, unless you can run new coax from you dish to the other room.

If your house is wired for cable from each room to a central location, like a cable junction box, you can try and track down which line goes to the room you need and switch the line from the dish over to it

So this would mean I'd have to climb up to the dish and track down which coax goes to which room and change it? I'm sorry, I'm not technical at all with cables and wiring. Thank you guys for your help!


P.S. Is it just me or does it seem pretty ridiculous that they are charging $90 for a tech to come in for a 5min procedure!

I dont know how rediculous it is, but they made me sign a 2 year agreement to change my rooms from 4 to 3, and i was the one to change it. No tech required.
