JVC ANNOUNCES LCD TV/BLU-RAY PLAYER COMBO

LCD TV features a built-in Blu-ray player for an all-in-one high definition entertainment system.

LAS VEGAS, January 7, 2009 – JVC today announced a combination LCD TV/Blu-ray player, a one-piece high definition entertainment system that combines a high performance full HD 42-inch class (42-inches diagonally) LCD TV with a built-in Blu-ray player for convenient playback of high definition Blu-ray movies.

JVC LT-42B300 features include:
1920 x 1080 resolution
Integrated ATSC-QAM tuner
JVC’s new picture improvement technology
Digital noise reduction
Dynamic backlight control
RMS 10W x2 audio power output
5 band Equalizer
Smart Volume
Connectivity:
3 HDMI inputs w/ CEC
1 component input
1 SPDIF input
1 analog video output

The LT-42B300 will be available in June.

That really surprises me that they would get into combos. I would never buy one.

If it were a small portable it might do OK. This thing is a non-starter. If it had the capability to do Netflix streaming, maybe.

Just imagine nothing but a power and Cat6 cable going to the TV.
Playing everything there is on your PCs, on neighbor's PCs, on external storage, on Netflix, on YouTube... Plus a BD player.
An HTPC inside each TV! That might work...
