Changing Ideas - Temporary BUD mount....

ok heres what im thinking about a temporary c-band dish tripod

getting three 24" diameter cement tubes
get some cast in place concrete anchors tac welded to a rebar cage
pour concrete into mold 16 inches tall over plywood base
fab tripod to these mounts, using nuts on threaded anchors to level.
24" diamater 16" tall concrete cylinders = 4.189 cubic feet
1 80 pound bag of cement = .60 cubic feet
6.981 - 80 pound bags of cement per footing = 558 lbs
7 bags per footing * 3 footing = twenty-one 80 pounds bags
1674 lbs tripod total weight.

Im do not know how to calculate if the weight of the blocks will be heavy enough to hold up to the force of wind on the dish. Lots of unknowns at this point. Im looking at a 10 foot mesh dish. The tripod i am not sure how tall but im going to guess at least 6 feet tall?? if anyone has a BUD tripod pic lemme know.

What do you guys think of this idea? Should it hold ???? Or should i just buy my own house ?? lol

check this thread there's a few nice pics of jsattv tripod

I did mine with a type of steel screw anchors which I modded myself and they held up since Oct last year. Reason was so I could remove them as I have a big tree blocking my view and tried to place it where it would only block the satmex ones. I'll try to get some pics up today.

coolsatbob Thanks for the link, just what i was looking for
