CBS 2014/2015 Primetime Schedule

My thoughts on the schedule-

CBS is pushing way too hard for NCIS:NOLA. I didn't like the intro episodes and I just think with that timeslot after NCIS, it's an automatic renewal. There will probably be less viewers than NCIS:LA but it's still going to muster enough ratings to get renewed and I really don't want to see this show get renewed. However, it will be interesting though to see how their ratings might affect Person of Interest.

I think of all of the shows that got moved, NCIS:LA was the winner out of the CBS herd. At first I was critical about it moving to Monday 10PM because of Castle and the Blacklist. Then I realized that the Blacklist is moving to Thursdays after October so that puts a lot of weight off NCIS:LA. Ratings will go down this year but I think Castle is much easier competition than Castle AND the Blacklist.

With the Mentalist absent from the fall lineup, it will probably reappear around mid-season but I don't think CBS should put it back on Sundays. If this is going to be the final season, then they should really consider putting it in a weekday spot. Where they put it is a very good question. The same applies with the other new show, Battle Creek. It is a possibility that one of these shows might make it to the summer schedule though. CBS knows that Battle Creek will in the spotlight a lot because of Vince Gilligan (executive producer of Breaking Bad) so they might make it their highlight show of the summer, but the risk comes when there isn't any competition and they might rack up bad ratings. Putting it in the spring sounds more likely for them leaving the Mentalist hanging. But who knows? Shows end their seasons and some get cancelled. Eventually it'll work out.

I expect one of the dramas to be cancelled around midseason. My prediction is Scorpion, I just didn't get a good first good impression. And with that time slot up against DWTS and The Voice? Good luck with that. I'll give it one or two episodes, but I doubt it will catch my attention. Madame Secretary sounds interesting but looks a lot like the Good Wife and the time slot is very competitive. This show has that aura of attracting the more older audience. During the fall, the younger audience will be on NBC watching football. The other drama, Stalker is the only one that I am going to commit to watching the whole season. Maggie Q and Dylan McDermott are great actors and I think this show can be the new face of CBS. Decent time slot a lot of suspense.

I see maybe two shows in the entire schedule. Too damn much drama.

I remember when TV was something that the whole family engaged in as a unit.

Very disappointed with CBS fall schedule now at 2 weeks in I have pretty much found 2 series I will continue watching and may be another 2-3 I'll DVR and may watch when I am bored with other programming. Two I will watch are NCIS & CSI and serialized CSI is in danger, I don't like the old movie theater concept of the Saturday morning serials to entertain kids.(to be continued)
