Does anyone know anything about WX2100? Apparently a product similiar to Rain Shield.

Here's what they say on their website:

"WX2100™ is a long-lasting, super hydrophobic coating that repels rain, snow and ice, keeping satellite dishes and radomes dry even in heavy precipitation and preventing the buildup of snow and ice. WX2100™ has been successfully used to reduce rain fade in commercial and military marine and ground microwave systems around the world – and now it's available to consumers.

One coating application lasts for over 10 years."

One coating lasting over 10 years???
That sounds a little too good to be true!

I was going to try to coat my StarChoice dish with rain shield but unfortunatelly its the dish is made the same as Primestar with all the little bumps on it :(

So, are you guys saying that using Rainshield on a Primestar would be just like putting wax on it? As in, very very bad?

Just checking. I am to lazy to scrub a Primestar dish down with a toothbrush, if I make a mistake. :D

Defiantly does not work as well on a Primestar dish compared to a smooth dish!

with the raised part on the dish it wasnt worth putting the rain shield on then dish since it wouldnt really coat it

Just an explination of the above picture, it was taken during heavy rain, the little beads of water on the right hand side of the dish are bouncing off the dish (like water in a HOT skillet), this is the side coated with Rain Shield. A still picture just does not do the product justice!

No way, there is wire mesh inside the dish (have been cut a few times)

It works on a Primestar dish but because of the surafe area it will take a lot more product to cover it!

I recommend the Rain Shield wipe MORE than enough to cover a few dish REALLY thick!
