OK this is odd and hopefully someone can shine a lite on this

Have the Pansat 9200 hooked to my Panasonic plasma through HDMI cable. When I select left or right audio on the Pansat it wont select just that. Kinda a pain on some channels where they have the L & R out of phase (like KWTO 2) or some channels that are L or R only

Am I right that you cant change audio to L or R only when using a HDMI cable?

many irds pass ac3 direct without any parsing. ie dreambox you can only select left/right when using the rca cables. when using the optical cable you get what the provider sends.

I also have a panasonic plasma, but havent looked, can you select the balance on the tv ?

yeah I can do that but the issue is some channels (feeds) are only one side so it sounds weird to hear it only out the left side

bummer....

Does the TV itself have a mono audio setting? My old TV could be selected that way. I used to run into a similar scenario when viewing old analog feeds. The VC2 audio was fine but some non VC only had one audio channel.
