Can't Restore "Incorrect Event"

This time of year some of my scheduled weekly programs are replaced by some other (often one-time) program. In the Daily Schedule the program in that time slot is crossed out and shown as "Incorrect Event". If you select the event it gives a menu with the top item being "Restore" however that Never works. Is that a "feature", "bug", or just poor software design?

The work-around is to delete the underlying timer, program the one-time event, then restore the timer after the program has been recorded.

Try a Seek-and-Record timer. You can set a Seek and Record for a single channel. You would never get an incorrect event for a S&R event.

That sounds good however I read in another thread that "Seek is for future events not displayed in the guide yet." If that's true it wouldn't work for an event that already is "Incorrect". And its not clear why programming a search for new event that in fact replaces/conflicts with an existing timer would solve the problem.

Seek works on either events that are or are not yet in the guide. I'm saying to remove your weekly timer for the show that is normally on and replace it entirely with a Seek timer. Then you'll never come across the "incorrect event" problem again.

Oh, that's interesting. I'll play with that and see how it works. Of course there's no telling the next time there will be a need to record a "replacement" program.

Okay there is a replacement tomorrow. I used search and it provided two times for the replacement program. However, it would not let me program the one that is the same time as the underlying timer. It did give me the option of deleting the timer then it would record the replacement program. Well that is the work-around I already know about. It certainly can be done but its not nice.
