Just to confirm: make sure you realize when we say we bet you can find a line of sight, doesn't necesarily mean you will use the exact same spot or pole height (if you have to use a mount pole).

You will need a HEADING COMPASS to do a proper sight survey; they are about $10 - $25. You will also need the proper look angles for your location. If you can provide your zip we can give that to you here. If you know your latitude & longitude that is great also. You can get that from most online mapping services by typing in your address.

doesn't the receiver tell me the angles to set it up at?

also, what website do i use to get longitude/latitude i'll post that as well

Yes AFTER you buy it. If you want to do a site survey (see what you can do BEFORE $$$) then no you wont have a HD receiver to use.

Zip Based:

Azimuth (compass heading): 240deg

Elevation (angle toward the sky): 32deg

Skew (dish rotation): 56deg - set this deadon and leave it alone

Dish mount must be 1000% plumb and level all around!

FINDING YOUR LAT&LON

Option #1: www.maporama.com

1. Enter your address in the Maps section (make sure you select USA) and click GO
2. The map displayed will show the lat/lon to the left of the map. You can click to re-center as needed.

Option #2: TerraServer Search (sure there are others)

1. Go to Microsoft's terra server
2. Click on 'Advanced Find'
3. Click on 'Address Search'
4. Enter the address and click 'go'
5. Click on the 'USGS arieal photograph' link
6. Verify where on the photo the house or address is
7. Click on the 'Image Info' link
8. The page will have the latitude and longitude of the borders of each photo labeled. Use these to estimate the latitude and longitude of that address.
