Can't get 119 to save my soul.

Hey guys, hope you can help a rookie?

Have 625 reciever, 1000.2 dish, and RG6 cable. Replaced every single component with brand new stuff. Tried other dishes, tried other recievers, tried moving the dish to different locations in the yard. Aimed, aimed, and reaimed the dish with a Birdog meter. Reset the test switch matrix. Worked on this off and on for weeks and weeks. Still all I can get is the 110, that's it. Clear view, unobstructed, nothin' but sky!

Had several others help for hours on end, each one dilligently trying to fix it. We're all stumped.

I've read practically everything on the internet pertaining to this issue and have already tried all I've read.

Personally, I think something is being overlooked but haven't a clue to what that is?

When you run the check switch test, in what order do the satellites show?

119 should be first, sounds like you dish is 9 degrees off

It should show in the order of 119-110-129. What angles are you using, and what is your zip code?

95008. I've tried it at many different settings. Currently I started at 46.7 elev., 175.1 Azm., and 86.1 skew. Using the Birdog meter it does change to get better signal and that's where I leave it. Also have done it using the TV hooked up and same results.

This is what I show from dishpointer.com. you probably want to go with the magnetic azimuth

Dish Skew [?]: 86.1°

If you are getting 110 in box 1 drop the elevation 4 degrees and swing back west 9 degrees.

Cover your 110 lnb and see if you are getting 110 on the correct eye.

Ha! Not quite yet. Sun finally came out after several days of rain. Going to try a few things in a bit and I'll report back!

How are you forcing the dish to connect the 119 LNBF to the meter? With the meters I use (Accutac 22 Pro, First Strike) select the 119 LNBF. The Accutrac 22 Pro and the First Strike uses a 22 KHz tone.

Without a command or signal to connect the 119 LNBF to the cable, the default is 110 LNBF.

But even with aiming with the 110 LNBF, you should get 110, X, 119in the Switch Test if the skew is correct.

Just tried turning it 9 dergrees west and lowered the elevation 4 degrees as suggested. No signal at all. Brussman, maybe that's my problem? 110 is a default? It seems to be all I can get no matter what I do. Have the birdog meter but hasn't helped so far?

So should I cover one of the LNB's? Preferably the 110 (which one is that BTW?) or connect only to port one on the LNB (119 I hope) and try that?

sounds like you may have somthing blocking the 119 signal, i.e. trees, buildings, etc....

looking from behind the dish 129 is the one on the far left, 119 in the middle,and 110 on the right. if you cover the outside 2 and still get 110 you are receiving it on the wrong lnb....that is why 110 is coming up first when you run check switch...

Clear sky no obstructions, Mack. I still think it's a hardware issue. Remember I tried the dish, different dishes, etc., in different locations. Same result. Different recievers, no help. All work just not here. I'm thinking all that helped me, myself included, are making the same mistake or oversight. Any ideas??

A plumb mast or pole with a clear los & dish set to settings based on zip code doesn't require much deviation for everything to fall in place with good signal. Not saying that you don't have a plumb mast/pole, it just sounds like something simple is being overlooked.

I agree Stardust, but moving the dish at it's current location or 30ft east and 20ft north w/plumb mast made no difference. just 110. Different dishes, different recievers, different cable. Same now matter what we've tried. The people helping have installed plenty and they are baffled. Been about 2 months now working on it periodically.

Still, all variables aside, it would give you great insight if you would just cover the eyes of the LNB with foil to determine which eye is "seeing" the 110 satellite. Don't move the Dish, just rule out which LNB is picking up 110.
