On my 10' dish I have a dual output LNB, one half feeds my MicroHD and the other half feeds my PC running MyTheatre version 4.00.130 (final version I guess)

I tried to blind scan Movies! in on the MicroHD and it didn't find it. I manually entered the transponder info and it then found it.
It plays just fine on the mhd..

I entered the transponder info on the pc and it would not scan in. :(

After two days of rescanning on the pc I tried using channelmaster to manually enter the channel.
I change to the channel I created and, nothing...

In MyTheater when I tell it to scan 3960 it says it's getting info, sits there for a few minutes then says it found nothing, updated nothing..

Is this new channel in some weird format that the very antiquated, abandonware MyTheatre can not understand? Is it folly to continue trying?

Thanks..

Movies! frequency is real close to MeTv. Even the MicroHD had problems with it at first. It would scan in, and then if you went to MeTv then back, it would be black. Until Brian modified the firmware, or we used the channel editor to modify the SID to 0.

So, maybe MyTheatre has a simular problem. Try modifying the frequency up or down several mhz 3960, 3961, 3962 or 3959, 3958, 3957 and see what happens. Maybe it'll work.

Cool idea, I'll try that!

Oh and on the mhd, I downloaded the latest firmware from satellite before I tried to get the channel, I think that may have helped.

That dang mytheatre app is several years out of date. I think it originally was a pirate app then when they killed off the pirates the app writer dried up and blew away..
Fortunately for me, it also worked for legit FTA. It ended up on my PC because of the weird switch setup I had at the time. Back in the heyday when there was a TON of stuff up there I had a bunch of dishes on an 8 way switch because the pc wouldn't operate an HH motor. As I added dishes I had to change to a big 8 way switch then I couldn't use the Hauppage TV app anymore, it only operated 4 dishes, period. My ex installed the MyTheater app because it was the only app out there that would work with crazy switch setups. Since then I've tried to find upgrades to it and it seems that the guy that wrote it just gave up and walked away. There's nothing else out there that works with crazy switches like I have so I'm stuck with this yesteryear app.. :(

IF, I could find an STB that does both S2, blind scan AND ATSC and operates as a PVR, I would ditch this clunker PC in a heartbeat !! I am soooooo over this thing!

I have issues with Movies! in MyTheatre. It's like a Codec thing though. CoreAVC doesn't like the low resolution widescreen format. It pixelates a lot and goes greenscreen on me. I have a good strong signal, but it's not watchable like this for me. The "advanced renderer" seemed to fix it for awhile but then it started breaking up again. No problem with the audio. Yea I wish Saar would update this program soon. He still sells this program and will provide you with keys when needed. Either update it or sell/give the project to someone who will Saar :)

I was able to scan and watch Movies! in MyTheatre by raising the frequency to 3962 (as suggested by primestar31). Before doing that the channel would scan in and show wrong PIDs (right click on channel > properties...). Correct PIDs on Movies! are vpid=656 apid=658.

BTW, in properties there is an "Update Mode". If that is not "Always" , when you scan, MyTheatre will report "0 New 0 Updated" and not change anything.

The reason it takes so long to scan is that there is "No Name" for the channel and MyTheatre keeps trying to find the name. MyTheatre will display it as "No Name #1".

I am using Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder. The channel is H.264 and requires a codec that is H.264 capable. I am using the "Enhanced Video Renderer" and running Windows 7.

Also, I have Movies! working in DVBViewer with same codec and renderer.

I'm using a media laptop that came with Vista Media Center installed.
All I added was a $15 remote off Amazon, and a LAN-based dual tuner OTA from Silicon Dust, called an HD Home Run. ($85?)
Vista or Windows 7 Media Center probably supports whatever tuner you have.

Anyway, the OTA PVR record from 90-100 local sub channels, and delivers shows to a hard drive that is shared out on my LAN.
In the living room, I play those shows through my WD TV Live Plus (I believe you have one), on a 42" LCD TV.

edit: and in the bedroom where the laptop is located, I use it's IR remote to control the system.
The laptop had HDMI out to my 22" bedroom TV.

You have one or more SatelliteAV PVRs, so does that mean you can ditch your annoying Russian program?
