Cancelled Dish Today

I'd be damn proud of that. I've been with DISH since I picked up a box of hardware from a participating dealer, installed my own equipment/dish the old fashion way with the 301's, and the choice to hand pick your channels which is "fair and balanced" as opposed to hand picking bundles which have a lot of useless crap.

Dish is a rip, AT&T is a rip, DirectTV is a rip....the entire telecommunication industry is a rip. It's encumbent upon smart shoppers to shop for the best value.

What really pisses me off about DISH (ya, am gonna rant whether any of the enablers like it or not) is when they raise my rates without any prior notice! Every year it's a game of nickel and diming us to death, just a "small" $5 increase.

Signed,
Researching for a better deal

read above thats true with any provider the content providers want more $$$ while the consumer wants lower rates

Funny because everyone else gets notice before the rates go up.

I got a call from Dish today threatening to charge me for my equipment if it's not returned promptly. I would have sent it back last week if Dish had delivered the boxes. So when I got home today, the boxes were there. I wouldn't be surprised if Dish was notified of the delivery today, and that triggered the call. So I had the boxes all packed with the receivers and remotes, and then I turned the instruction sheet for the returns over, and saw that Dish wanted the Solo Node and the LNB back too. Had to get out the ladder, power screwdriver and pliers to disconnect everything. So tomorrow I'll drop the box at UPS, and Dish will just be a memory.

Streaming can't give me MultiView, our local channels, the same show on multiple TV's, or a lot of other things.
Not totally accurate. YoutubeTV for one gives you local channels as does DirecTV Now. I believe both of them give you multiple sign ins, so why can't you watch the same show on multiple TVs (assuming you have multiple devices to provide the signal)?

Everything in my statement is accurate. There might be a few local channels available but our local channels aren't there. Also you can't stream to multiple TV's with a 5 meg DSL connection like we have here.

they used to do that crap years ago make people climb up on the roof and get the LNBF off the dish. if they told me that i would tell em if i fall and break my neck then i'm suing you idiots and ask em whats more important your hardware or your job dumb ass

From what I've heard, the LNB's go directly in the trash once they reach Dish's warehouse.
i didn't know that. but hell they make so many of them they don't pay really anything for em. i knew they had people climbing on roofs in the dead of winter pulling em off the roofs. wich makes no sense to me since an installed dish can be used as a marketing tool and get them more subs

How is my statement inaccurate? Or does it just not fit your narrative?
What the hell are you smoking? What "narrative"? "Bait and switch" has a definition:
the action (generally illegal) of advertising goods that are an apparent bargain, with the intention of substituting inferior or more expensive goods.
Dictionary.com

You're claiming MVPDs who raise their rates after a year (or presumably 2, 3, 4, or however many years) are using "bait and switch". Let's not even get into the fact the discounts expire after a set amount of time is readily available before anyone signs anything. The fact people don't read that is on them. MVPDs aren't "switching" anything. You still get the exact same goods, for the price advertised, for the time frame advertised. There's no "bait and switch".
