I am considering upgrading from the VIP 722 to the VIP 922 so I can get all the "SlingLoaded" features as shown in this brochure that is on Dish Network's website now:
http://www.dishnetwork.com/downloads/product_brochures/922_Brochure.pdf
It says this in THIS brochure:
"Connect ONE high-definition (HD) TV for viewing at home,
plus enjoy TV Everywhere: "live and recorded programming on your computer or mobile device".
I saw this other VIP 922 posting from SatelliteGuys last year:
http://www.satelliteguys.us/dish-network-forum/196739-new-dish-922-spec-sheet.html
Here's the brochure from this SatelliteGuys webpage:
http://www.satelliteguys.us/attachment.php?attachmentid=45371&d=1260839967http://www.satelliteguys.us/attachment.php?attachmentid=45370&d=1260839967
In THIS brochure, it says:
"TWO independent TVs supported
--TV1: HDTV or SDTV outputs
--TV2: SDTV outputs"
"Independent Output to 2 TVs In Duo Mode"
"SlingLoaded™ Yes"
Basically, what I want to know is ... does the new VIP 922 support a hookup where you can independently watch a particular channel on HDTV with TV1, AND you can independently watch another channel on a standard definition TV (SDTV) in another room, AND you can also view a "live and recorded programming from your computer or mobile device" (TV Everywhere)?
Did Dish Network get rid of the feature where you can watch a separate channel on a standard definition TV in another room so that you can have this new SlingLoaded feature where you can watch on your computer or iPhone?
Does there need to be THREE independent tuners in order to watch one channel on the HDTV (TV1), a different channel on the SDTV (TV2), a different channel on the computer/laptop (TV3)?
By using the Zoom in my browser, I noticed that there is a "Remote Antenna" and a "Home Distribution" screw-in on the back of the VIP 922. What is it there for if you can't use the remote antenna in order to change the TV2 channel for a standard definition TV in another room?
Bottom line, I just want to have all the same features you can get with the VIP 722 PLUS all the latest "SlingLoaded" features. I want to be able to watch a separate channel on the HDTV, a separate channel on the SDTV in another room, AND a separate channel on the computer/iPhone. Does the VIP 922 do this? I need to know whether I even want to get the 922 at all of if I should just wait for an even newer one.
