Is it possible to upgrade the DVR625 with an HD receiver VIP622, using the same/existing satellite dish, (twin)LNB and DPP44 switch?
Or do you have to replace the whole setup?

I would appreciate any feedback on this.
Thanks

I originally had a 625 installed back in October with a Dish 500 setup. When I upgraded to my 622 they just came and threw up another dish to get 61.5, ran a line to the original Dish's LNB, and that was it. No new switches were needed.

If you have the right equipment as Red Wings had, then no. Most subscribers usually have just the dish 500, then yes and again depending on your current equipment. Some have the entire dish replaced while others have pieces replace and others is just an add on. If you can say exactly what you have ie: type(s) of dish, type of lnb(s) ie: legacy, DishPro or DishProPlus, and area you live, we can give you more exact equipment upgrade for you.

You will need to change the dish or add another dish most of the HD broadcasting comes off either the 129 or the 61.5 satellites with a dish 500 you can't see either. With a DP Twin and a DPP44 I have to assume you have more than 1 receiver or more than 1 satellite connected so it would improve the answer if we knew all the details.
