If I were to de-activate my DVR (510), would I still be able to watch the shows recorded on it?

On my used 301 (which I won't activate since it had a balance on it), It gives me the free channels but no Dish Home. I can set a timer to watch any of the free programs, so it made me wonder if recorded shows get locked out when the receiver is de-activated...

I have read on the forums in the past where the recordings get deleted if it is still connected to the satellite when they deactivate the receiver so they disconnected it to avoid it losing the recordings.

Yes you can. I have a de-activated 721 with 65 hours of movies on it. Just pull up the "menu" and from there you should see a prompt for PVR, where your recordings will be. Click on what you want, and make sure you still have an audio feed, and you're good to go. That is the only portal to my knowledge to get to the recordings.
