Can we remove the 8vsb from the 811?

After reading about all the noisey 8vsb module fans, I started wondering if the module was removable on the new 811. I know it is removable on the 6000 but I think it's built into the 811.

I can't get any OTA locals without extraordinary effort anyhow so I was thinking of just removing the module if it was noisy. Does anyone know if this would be possible? Scott, maybe?

No from what I saw everything was built on the main board.

When you look at the back of the 811 in its datasheet you'll see that it does not have the two expansion module slots that the 6000 had. So there isn't a 8VSB module to remove.

But there might be hope, the 811 might not have a fan at all.

It would be nice, but I'm not optimistic. The HW needed to do HD tends to run pretty hot. But the fan on a larger box can be much quieter, since it can be larger and run more slowly than the tiny fan in a plug-in module.

Not to mention cook the thing to a cinder. Those HD chipsets get plenty hot.
