in simple words ,if I split my 2nd tuner on the 625, wil it work?

this is my current setup.output 1 going to tv in the living room, and output 2 to the kitchen, and I have my remote extender also in the kitchen (thru the splitter). Now, I was wondering if i split my output 2 so that on connection would go into the kitchen & other one to my room, will it work? will be able to change channels in both my room AND he kitchen?

thanks Randall
so then will my current setup work with the remotes? Like currently I have the remote extender in the kitchen. That means I wil have to get 4 to 1 splitters on each end?

From what I gather, you will need 4 splitters.
One splitter to combine the UHF remote antenna and TV2 at the receiver.
One splitter at TV2 output, one goes to the kitchen another one to your room. One splitter at the kitchen, one output to the TV another one for the UHF antenna.
One splitter at your room, one output to the TV and one to another UHF antenna.

If the kitchen and your room are close enough, you could get rid of one splitter and just use one UHF antenna.

Thanks Randal,
Last Q. If do it the above way, the single output Will catch the right output right? and not try to look for the antenna frequency?

Thanks,

The TV tuner on your TV will look for the channel output frequency you specify in the receiver. If you set your TV2 to Cable 73, you tune your TV to Cable 73. All other frequencies are discarded.

De nada.

It should work. One thing to keep an eye on is the distance from the receiver to the two other locations. You're splitting the signal 4x3.5dB=14.0 dB. I can't remember exactly what TV2 output is but it's over 15dB. The distance will be the deciding factor.

Edit: TV2 output is +17dBmV

I am using a 522 (625 just with smaller hard drive) for My office, kids bedroom and kids tree house. I have the 522 in my office and I use TV1. I have two RG6 wires coming out of the 522 going to my attic. The first comes out of tv2 and goes to a 1 in / 2 out splitter in my attic and this run of wire is about 30 feet. Out of the splitter there is about another 30 foot run to my kids bedroom and about a 150 foot run to his tree house. The second wire out of the 522 is the antenna extender and it is about 75 feet long and sits about halfway between his tree house and bedroom with the small antenna that came with the 522 on the end of it in the attic. The UHF remote works fine from either location and the picture is just as good in all three locations. Oh yeah I also went to eBay and bought an additional UHF remote for only about ten dollars for the tree house. You can find them there all the time at this price in buy it now auctions.

Thanks Alajoe, but of course if you change channel on one source on TV2, it would change it on the other course on TV2 as well right?

That is what I love about these dual tuner with dual tv output satellite receivers. You can connect splitters up to them and turn the channels in the other rooms - as close to cable as you can get in that regard.

Yes Aamert my kids bedroom and tree house are on the same channel all the time but he can't be in both places at the same time. Its kinda nice also because I can go in his bedroom and see what he is watching in the tree house and make sure he is not watching something he should not be.

I'm combining the modulated outputs of TV1 and TV2 by using a splitter in reverse then I feed the output to an amplified 4 way splitter I got from Radio Shack. I am able to watch TV1 on channel 3 or TV2 on channel 73 on any TV in the house except the main TV in the living room which is uses the RCA outputs of TV1. We bought extra UHF remotes from Ebay. Now the wife can watch TV2 in her room and I can watch TV1 in mine (we snoar). There is only 2 of us so it suites us fine.

thanks for the suggestions guys.. anyone else has something creative going?

What I am planning on doing soon is combining my basic cable with the TV2 signal and split it to two TVs. This will allow me to watch both the TV2 output and cable on both my basement TV and Bedroom TV. So for some reason if a person is in the basement and i'm in the bedroom, i can just flip over to basic cable or visa versa. This was mainly driven by the loss of CourTv...my GF loves that channel.

I am surprised that Dish Network didn't build this function in their receivers to allow you to do it all on one cable right from the receiver.

if you mean like the Remote and tv2 signal, i would agree they should have that on the same cable to make things easier.
but some people might not need the remote 2 transmitter next to their tv2 (for some reason)
