ok guys, i am totally frustrated with directv and directv seems unwilling to help me here is my other thread about this (http://www.satelliteguys.us/directv-forum/187941-resetting-receiver.html) and yes its still happening here my question if i tape my tv when it happening can i post it on youtube and post it on here? once again mine brother had call about this at least 30 times about this all we want is it fix because i got C.P. and i have trouble Resetting the Receiver everytime a game comes on thanks Mark

1. is it happening on both HD recivers or just one as you said you have 4 recivers 2 are hd. So is tis just an isolated event t othat one box or both?

2. box model number and software revsions

3. price of tea in china


All basic trouble shooting steps to figure out what is going wrong.

first, off we trouble shooting about 20 already (they all tell me Reset the Receiver and it only work for like 8hrs, 2 its just happen in 1 hd box (in my bed room) 3 as i said i got C.P. so i cant get the box model number and software revsions but its only 6 months old sorry) and lol but this inst fun to me

From your remote hit Menu>Setup>Setup>

& from there you can get the Box model number & software version/date. You can hit 'Info & Test' from there & run the System Test but I'm not sure anything will show up there regarding your specific need to reset the damn thing. As you know, it's not normal for the thing to crap out & need a reboot once a day.

Hang in there, it will be fixed. :)

i know its not normal to need a reboot once or more a day but i do, to get NFL,MLB,NHL games to comes in, can i post mine video? to show you what i talking about
 
Well it would help to diagnose if you werent running cutting edge software.

To me it looks like 434E is the national release currently out on the H21-100 from the firmware site. It also makes sense since it was installed at 3:44AM which is outside the CE download window.
 
and i been dealing with this problem since Mid-May,they told us everyone is having this problem
 
What's the procedure for reverting back to the normal national release? Why not try that?

The procedure to revert back is to reset recvr, when the blue rings starts to light back up .
Push 02468 on the remote, make sure it's OUTSIDE the normal CE time slots, 11pm-2am Friday and Saturday.
