Can I watch a program while it records?

I have a new 722 and want to know how to watch a program while it is recording. I don't see any buttons for this. Say a football game has been on 1 hour and I get home. I want to watch it from the beginning while it is recording and not join it in progress. It is an OTA program.

Hit the DVR button twice. You will see your show with a red dot next it (this indicates that it in the process of recording). Highlight that show and press select. Now you will have a screen with several options.

View Live, stop recording, or start over. Pick start over and you will watch your show starting at the begining. Feel free to skip a head during the commericals. If you catch up to "live recording" then that is OK too.

Thank You very much. I did not even find that in the book. I would have thought start over meant to start the recording over.

No, but be careful of the the "stop rec". I've sometimes hit that because I was quick on the remote and meant to start over. I then had to quickly start the recording up again breaking my program into two recordings and omitting whatever occurred between the two.

Yeah, and don't press the STOP button on the remote while watching a channel that is recording.

Ouch! I've done that MORE than one time. Slow down, pay attention...
