Can I upgrade from 222 to 722?

I just got installed and signed new 2 year agreement.

Being a cheap SOB I took the 222 vip.

Today while watching a movie, my wife said pause it and it dawned on me how crappy it is that I can't pause.

I just asked in chat to Dish asking them to upgrade me.

they said no, its too late.

do you know any way to get a free upgrade? it was just installed.

I'm not real sure how that works, but I would chat again and call and chat and call until I got what I wanted. CSR roulette can sometimes be your friend. Dish has always been very helpful with me. Good luck to you.

2nd round of chat wasn't any better.

they said I am now an existing customer. I thought I read here where I had 60 days to upgrade

DISH is right after 24 hours you can't cancel without paying the Early Termination Fee. You are an existing customer no free receivers any longer. Now if you want a 722 you can buy one and return the 222 to remove that expense from your account. If you can survive with your cheapness I think in 6 months they may start talking to you about upgrading but not for free.

There is absolutely no 30 days rule, BUT you can try to reach "an account specialist" who might help. But, yes, you did not do your homework. You may have to pay the price. Hopefully, not...keep trying.

I always tell customers the most important thing to decide on when siging up is what equipment you want. It is free when you first sign up, you just have to pay the DVR fee per month. Sorry to say, but it looks like you messed up bud.
