Can I look at other sats?

I currently have a 1000.4 setup. I'd like to go up to my son's house for 2 weeks (about 75mi away) for a visit and take my DVR with me. He has no line of sight for the 1000.4.

I have a 1000.2 dish, which I could take with me, but I am wondering if my DVR will let me look at those different birds. Again, this will only be for a week and a half to 2 weeks. Is this do-able?

You would have to run a check switch test at each location.
edit.. also depending on your locals, you may or may not get them on the different arc.

No more than 5 or 10 minutes, tops....

You can get any satellite you can see. If you are authorized for programming, you can see that on any satellite that has that programming. As mentioned, after getting the signal, just a check switch and you should be good to go.
