Can Hoppers on Different Accounts See Each Other

I've given up on delivered pizza. Never can get a crispy crust. Frozen is actually better, and cheaper.

We now return you to your normal thread.

The main thing that gets my goat is the fact that the Hopper is still so buggy and/or barren of options previously available on the older receivers... Stellar hardware... Crummy software...

Sure that's irrelevant to this thread but with that already in mind it just set me off that they asked Scott to delete posts rather than just simply saying that a mistake was made and providing a reason other than "bandwidth limitations" for not allowing it. I strongly suspect that it's more like "crummy software." Hell I hear that some apps aren't even working "yet" on the Super Joey. Why must we the paying customer be the beta testers? All I'm saying is does it really kill Dish to put just a little more time/effort/money into their CSR/PR/Software Engineering department?

Imagine if our phones/tablets/laptops ran like a Hopper? That would be fun, wouldn't it? Imagine your phone UI crashing just because you're editing your contacts, imagine your phone randomly rebooting and/or phoning strangers, or asking you to power off every hour after 1am, sometimes powering off while in the middle of a conversation because you didn't see the prompt since the phone was up to your ear or in your pocket and you were on bluetooth?

Btw to answer OP's original question, a good while back I had an issue with seeing the recordings on one of my Hoppers, when I would go to select the Hopper from the drop-down it would give me "Attention 1324 To view DVR events from this Hopper, it must be active on your account. Please contact DISH customer service at 1-800-333-DISH to authorize."

Talked to DIRT and they had no clue, they've never seen that before. So I suggested they send me a "hit" and see if that corrects it. That did it. So that's probably the same screen one would get with two receivers from two different accounts.

Even with it's flaws, I'm VERY happy with my HWSes. However, I might not be if I had some of the problems some others are reporting.

Thanks. That's the info I was looking for.

I always pick up our pizzas in 10-15 minutes vs having them sit at the shop waiting on a driver, then riding in the driver's car while he/she makes multiple stops.

I guess it depends on how you use it. I'm also very happy with my receivers for the most part, I just don't see how they let some of the bugs/omissions get through that they do. The EHD issues are the biggest pain. Seems like something so simple to fix too, but they're too busy changing the interface every six months. It's like when they finally get the bugs out of the current interface, they push a new one out virtually untested and it's almost like day 1 again. Then the nightly shutdown popup gets worse instead of better.

Good points.

I exchanged a few messages with Matt about adding a SJ to my 2 hopper account also. He said it could be done and I ordered one. When it arrived in sat I go to send a message to him to have it activated and I had a pm from another dirt member in response to a pm I had sent him and he had answered stating that it could not be done. I just have up and ordered another hopper. I isolated my hoppers because of the stepdaughter deleting my shows and I was just trying to save a few bucks not having another hopper w/ sling. Now I'm waiting on the money back from the SJ so I should have just ordered a 3rd hopper knowing that it could be done. I replied to the message from the other guy asking why I getting conflicting info even from dirt and never did get a response. I hope I don't have issues activating the hopper now lol

WOW, great!! Thanks for sharing and sorry for your issue. Where are you MattG?!

Hopefully we are not putting Mattg in a compromising position as he seems very helpfull but the higher ups might not like his exceptions to the rule.

After Matt set up a 2H/SJ Dish found out and ended it. Something about causing other problems even if it works sometimes. There's a thread in this elsewhere.

Don't count on any multiple Hopper account adding a SJ any time soon, or even ever.

You do know you can go to the deleteds folder and recover your programs?

I guess my gut feeling to not waste my time attempting to add a SJ to my 4H setup was right.

No ones tried adding a purchased second Hopper to an account with a Super Joey...yet. But I'm sure its going to be the same answer.

Correct. We cannot add a 2nd Hopper to an account that has a Hopper and a Super Joey, just like we cannot add a Super Joey to an account with two Hoppers.

They don't work, or visit here, (7) days a week. I didn't know DIRT people could access each other's PMs though.

We also cannot access other DIRT members PMs.
