I currently have a dish 1000 with the triple lnb for 110,119, and 129. Sat 110,119 get awesome signal while 129 gets barely good enough to stay on.

I was wondering i have a couple dish 500 laying around and if i pointed one to pick 110,119 and the other to point at 129 more directly then the triple and run the cable from 129 to the input of the 110,119 lnb

will this allow me to get a better signal from 129? they tried with a wing setup but there were too many trees in the way so i got stuck with the triple lnb with a low signal on 129. "best they could do"

when i first had the hd service installed my locals were not available in hd. after about six months i called to get an additional receiver and they told me at that time they were available so they were gonna hook that up. at the time i didnt know what all that involved. but when he came out he said they would have to put up an additional dish and point it another direction towards 61.5 but my neighbors hugh tree was right in the line of sight. hd locals isnt a big deal to me anyways but most of the hd channels i watch come from 129 and with the dish 1000 barely getting a useable signal i needed new options i can take of hence this post

yeah if no LOS for 61.5, get a 500 and point it at 129

what if any is the best transponder to get the signal from. the way my buddy and i have always lined up our older dishes was to just take a 13" tv out in the yard with the receiver and line them with the visual and audio marker built into the receiver. always had good luck this way. directv never had its transponders on the same menu with the signal bar so we never used to worry about them but dish network has them intergrated

so which would be the best transponder if any to be on when lining up 129 and the same for 119

If you dish 1000 is getting great signals leave it alone and continue using it for 110/119. Go to signal strength on 129 and pick your strongest transponder and use that to tune in the dish 500 that is the signal you want to beat.

using this site here ww.satsig.net/maps/lat-long-finder.htm i was able to get these settings for 129 location. first is this the right 129 and secondly do they sound right?

Dish 500 for one satellite - set skew to 90 or midpoint.

You only need skew when looking at multiple satellites.
