I've talked to 3 different CSRs and received different answers each time as to which fee is 'waived' if I keep my phone line continously connected.

I am a new customer and haven't received a bill as of yet.

I have one 510 receiver and one 322 dual.

I have 120 channels with local: $39.99
Hbo : $13.99
DVR service Fee : $4.98
Additional Receiver Fee: $5.00

One rep. told me the $4.98 DVR fee is waived if phone is connected. One Rep told me the $5.00 2nd receiver fee is waived if phone is connected. A 3rd rep. told me neither of those two fees will ever be waived, if my phone line is not connected there will be a completely different $5 in addition to the charges above.

Please help, I can't get the same answer out of them.

Thanks

You'll be billed as follows for the receivers:

510: $0.00 receiver fee (One receiver included in package price)
510: $4.98/month DVR fee
322 Tuner 1: $5.00/month receiver fee
322 Tuner 2: $4.99/month receiver fee (Waived if 322 continuously connected to account phone line)

By the way, if you had gotten the AT120 Value Pak with locals plus HBO and Cinemax, you'd have paid $56.99. AT120 with locals + HBO is 53.98.

The 522 pricing is the same as the 322 pricing as stated above along with the DVR fee. All DVR fees are waived if you have the AEP (America's Everything Package). Otherwise if the receivers that have a DVR fee is activated the DVR fee will automatically apply along with the additional outlet fee unless connected to a phone line on the second tuner on the 322 or 522.

Seems strange that you got a 510 instead of a 522.

Anyway, your billing as posted looks correct.

If the 322 is not hooked up to a phone line, it's going to cost you another $5/month.

Strange as in for him wanting the 510 or for Dish giving him the 510?
I would take the 510 anyday over the 522(as long as I'm only needed it for one tv that is).

re

I didn't actually want the 510 over the 522. Its just that I needed a receiver with digital output in my basement for my home theater sys. and because they have to run 3 wires into the 522 from outside wall they couldn't install the 522 in my basement because the walls are all concrete foundation. By installing the 510 down there, they were able to use the existing cable line coming in that I had from Comcast. Instead they put the 322 on my second floor and connected to 3rd floor tv also. I only wanted one DVR receiver, unfortunately I lose pause/rewind on one set by not having the 522. But there was nothing else they really could have done.

If the 301 that they brought for my 2nd receiver had a digital output I could have put that in the basement and the 522 on 2nd/3rd floor but the thing didn't have one which would have been cool. I was acually told over the phone I would get a 311 as the 2nd receiver but they brought a 301 and the installer told me I Dish Net wouldn't give out a 311 as a lease. I don't know if the 311 has a digital out either.

It seems like I said that 15 hours ago.
Yeah, but I said it backwards - or you did. :D

thiggin2: 522's still the choice for a one TV setup - because it has TWO tuners and doesn't cost any more (with phone hookup anyway).

skiz77: Installer was wrong - we send out 311's on DHA all the time. I don't remember if it's got digital outputs, tho.
