Camping and the East & West sats

I have been taking both a East & West 1000 Turbo HD dishes with me going camping. I just aim one of them at which ever sky I have a shot at. last weekend the guy next to me had a 500 and a 311 rec. He had never tried the East birds. I skewed the 500 and popped it on East sats but the 311 only showed very few channels. My 211z has all the channels no matter which sats I aim at. Just curious if that is due to the older receiver?

The Dish 500 is only designed for satellites 119 and 110. The 311 receiver will not work on Eastern Arc as well.

I was pretty sure it was the 311. It was showing a few channels but not very many. Thanks for the reply.

The dish 500 was seeing at least the 61.5 for sure. It was giving us a few channels but only a few.

With a dish 500 you will be able to get all EA channels that an EA 1000.2 twin would get but you must have a mpeg4 (HD) receiver.

Yeah I knew the antenna would receive the sats just wasn't sure why we weren't seeing very many channels. Thanks for the info...
