Camera not detected by USB port on 722K

I have a new 722K and read that I could use the USB port to load camera pictures onto the hard drive and then do slide shows. The unit does not recognize my camera. Indicates no device connected. I have a Canon Power Shot 1200IS. If this camera is not supported by the 722K is it possible to move pictures to a USB thumb drive and have it recognized by the 722K.

I used to load pictures to the 722 via a thumb drive...

Does your camera have a setting to determine whether it makes itself look like a disk drive or like a camera? Some won't do both simultaneously.

I have tried several cameras on my 722k and none of them work....a thumb drive works just fine though....
