Hello all.

Thanks in advance for any help you give me.

I currently have a house wired with RG59. My pvr501 receiver works great (the dish is a 500 pro plus with a dual dish pro lnb)). I am looking to add the 921 receiver to run off a single cable with a splitter. Am I correct by saying I can have the 2 receivers hooked up properly by switching my lnb to a Dish Pro Plus Twin?

Then, if my 501 receiver works with the existing cable, will the 921 work too? I am confused about using only RG6. Is there a way to get around this. I would really like to use the existing cable...:)

Sorry for being a Noob! Thanks again...Joe

RG59 will only lead to problems. If not now, then later.

I assume by "splitter" you really mean the DPP Separator. They are totally different devices with different purposes.

The effect of using RG59 depends on both the quality and length of the cable run. The difference between high-quality RG59 such as Belden 1505A (sweep tested and guaranteed to 3 GHz) and most RG6 is minimal and for lenghths less than 100 feet the RG59 will work fine. For shorter runs the differences are even less.

1GHZ vs 2.3GHZ coax

More 510 problems.
