My DIRECTV is currently run through my cable box on the side of my house and it's jacking up my internet connection. I'm planning on running a dedicated line for my DIRECTV and need some help building my list of materials. Here's what I have so far:

RG6U
Low Voltage Bracket
Wall Cover
Drywall Saw
Fish Tape
Duct Tape

Any additions or advice on the job at hand? Thanks.

We need to know what dish you currently have and if there is a multiswitch being used?

Anyway, you will need the compression connectors and tool to install them.

It's a DIRECTV Five LNB Ka/Ku Slim Line Dish. Where along the path would the multiswitch be located if it were being used? Do multiple receivers denote the use of a multiswitch?

That dish has an integrated 4 output multiswitch so it will support 4 tuners (DVRs have 2). If this dish has fewer than 4 lines running to the house, you'll need to add them. These four lines run to a central location (cable box?) and are distributed from there. This is where a multiswitch (WB68) would be added if you need more than 4 tuners. Of course, you don't have to use the cable box for the central location, it just might be convenient.

Gotcha. So, as far as the list of materials goes, I have;

RG6U
Low Voltage Bracket
Wall Outlet Cover
Drywall Saw
Duct Tape
Fish Tape
Compression Connectors
Crimping Tool

Sound good? Is there more?
