cable channels to 942 OTA scan?

Cable channels with the 942

I want to watch cable channels from the 75 ohm input and scan ota. Are these channels analog? If they are is there a way to convert them, since the 942 will only scan digital but has a blanked out analog button. Any suggestions appreciated.
