C31 now "public"

I agree with Digiblur. I wouldn't want to give up a tuner for the c31. Having 5 tuners, I am yet to have a conflict. I'll just hit record on the H25 if I need to pause something.

In summary, all customers have different needs... the C31 offers some features (better DVR integration) at the cost of others (having its own tuner)

for those who never need their 5 tuners, its probably a "win".. for those often using up their 5 tuners, its a "fail"

From a business side, I wonder if its not a confused line-up at this point ... ie. while they have their diffs, the C31 and the H2x seem to occupy _close_ to the same functional category for the "average" consumers (someone who is not going to be reading these forums)... is there a plan to phase out the H2x?

And I'd sure love to see the cost of the C31 be lower than the H2x.. ie. you are giving up a tuner... and in return getting a function that the H2x should have had anyway (if I was a technology teacher I'd have given the H2x a B-.. partial credit for lacking these features in the 1st place and daring to call the HR34 "whole home DVR" without them).

So if I replace my H25 with a C31 I won't be saving any $$ per month on the "Advanced HD receiver" fee as it'll be $6 either way.

However, with a HR34/C31 setup would I be able to dump WHDVR and save that $3?

no thats still included.
All you gain with a C31 is trick play all the time on it
