I have been very happy with my new motorized 6 footer dish setup i put up late this spring except for 1 minor problem.A few (not many) tps i cant seem to get a lock on!best Q in these cases is around 10.The majority are on the c-band like RTV on 3800 AMC3 (do get 4080 strong though) and a New movie channel near 101.Not sure if its a dish size problem because some others here get these channels with a 6 footer.I'm not going to play with my DMX 741 for now because i really think i got it set up about the best that i can and don't want to risk messing up the other stations that i get.Is it possible that when the DMX741 is set up for best reception on the majority of channels that a sacrifice of not getting a few channels will happen.I'm using my azbox ultra slaved to my solomend on this set up.

The DVB-S2 signals seem to require a bigger dish. I've got the RTV channels, but even on my 7.5 foot dish, I'm only getting a signal quality of 40 to 49 on my Coolsat 8100. A couple of weeks ago, I could only get 10% on the RTV channels. I ended up taking out the wrenches, loosening the panels, and after some tugging on the panels, I managed to get them put into place where I could get a useable signal. For the past few years, the dish was giving good enough signal for the DVB-S signals, but the S2 stuff needs a stronger signal.

Thanks Davage! again im still abit mystified because i do get plenty of s2 signals but tweaking the ant for the few that i dont get gives me no results!which brings me to the conclusion that its the LNB that needs an ajustment to get them but that most likely will mess up the ones that i do get now.

Stanley, That's why I got rid of my 6 footer and went an 8 footer. Still have issues with the one RTV Transponder though. The movie thing you mentioned is there with the 8 footer. I switched from the lnb you have to a Geosat Lnb CK2? I think it was. I don't use the KU side of this lnb anyhow...but it is a combo lnb. I noticed a little bit of improvement there switching the lnb out. I lucked out and found 8 foot panels last year glad I did...Bigger really is better as everyone says....Blind

Thanks Blind! and others.I may go with a larger dish in time or if i happen to find a real good deal. For now its no big headach! It does seem that the ones im missing are being caught with some others with a 6 footer so i still kinda think its a LNB problem but your right! bigger would help with some of the weak signals out there.I see that satellite AV is having a christmas special! 50% off on a LNB! so i might just grab one of their c/ku combos and try it out in the spring. With winter coming soon i would rather leave the dish alone till spring.
