C-Band dish misuses

Within the past month, I saw some anarchist's plans offered for sale that would turn your old BUD into a gazebo.

Now, there is more insanity over at Slashdot where someone is talking about, Alternative Uses For an Old Satellite Dish?

Oh, the humanity....

Well, maybe that might help to keep old dishes out of the dump or from being recycled for scrap.

I'm making a Solar water heater from an 18" dish, for the Kiddies pool.

I'd like to see a post with the finished solar dish. I'd convert my DN dishes and get some payback.

I even have a device that will track the Sun from east to west using a BUDs polar mount and Actuator. I just have to put it all togeather, it's my summer project, but will work just the same in the winter.

Goto YouTube and search "solar dish", many have done it before. Cover the Dish with Tin Foil and hang a soup can of water at the Focal Point, it boils in a few seconds!
