Viewing the VOOM HD Lite now, I decided to subscribe to the C-Band Starz package for my 4DTV (only $10/month and includes 30 Starz/Encore channels) and I was amazed!
The PQ on a digitla 4DTV Starz Movie channel upconverted using my Sony WEGA 42" LCD Projector HD Tv, was equivalent to some of the VOOM HD or HD Lite!
I had not tried this since we bought our Sony WEGA 42" almost a year ago, as we had VOOM at that time and had no need for the C-Band. It is still working and now, with all this upheaval at DISH, I am perfectly content with some of these 4dtv channels--until DISH can upgrade the PQ on VOOM.
It is really a pity that DISH has "dumbed down" HD! And PQ in general.
I realize that C-band is a "dying" issue, BUT, those C-banders who swtiched to DISH but kept their C-band equpment STILL have plenty of programming choices in MUCH better PQ and for a LOT less cost!
I can get C-band Starz HD IF I find a HD converter for about $200 on EBAY, so, with the VOOm channels being downgraded to 15 instead of 21, HD Lite and price going up, I may just do without for now.
