I'm not sure if this is in the right section. I'm trying to prepare everything before my dish arrives. The channel I'm really looking forward to is BVN-TV (hoping it will help my Dutch). FTAlist has it listed on AMC 4 and Galaxy 25. Lyngsat has it listed on AMC 4 only. With my shaky Dutch I believe their website says they're on AMC 4 instead of Galaxy 25 (though it might say in addition  ). Can anyone confirm this?
I'm really hoping to catch it on Galaxy 25, since it has such plentiful channels. Otherwise I might have to invest in a motor :).

I did a search on TheList here, and here are the results: SatelliteGuys.US - BVN

Shows up being on both, I will double check to make sure.

EDIT - I don't seen it in the normal location on 97 (I have a scan of 97 from last night and it was there), it is still on 101 in the correct location.

It was mirrored on both G25 & AMC4 for a while but the G25/IA5/T5 feed left on 12/30

only available on AMC4 now :)

Thanks Iceberg for the confirmation, I will update that soon, I have been trying something new for TheList which has delayed the last update.

I hadn't noticed that it was gone off of T5 yet, I guess I haven't gone channel surfing since before the 30th of December.. I had compared the BVN picture coming down from both birds and I found that the AMC4 one was of better quality.

BVN and RVI and RNWx (Dutch & English content) now only AMC4

Apparently, BVN and Radio Nederlands/Netherlands radio channels 1-5 and RVI used to be carried on both G25 and AMC4, (I was listening to them on G25 anyhow :) but starting around 1/1/2008, the G25 feeds went dark.

I'm glad I have a motorized setup because Murhpy's Law ensures that the "good stuff" (however you define it) will always be on N+1 satellites, where N is the number you are currently able to receive.

On the bright side, the AMC4 feeds seem to be relatively strong.

BVN has a wacky gameshow called "Blokken", which is a weird hybrid of conventional "hit-the-buzzer and give the answer" quiz show and Tetris game. Hope you enjoy the Dutch content.

And RNW2 is English radio content from The Netherlands. Excellent for anyone who wants a broad news and current affairs perspective from a more European point of view. Highly recommended as an eye-opener to those subjected to a steady diet of US-only media.

I didn't realize they were also sending out radio. I'm very new to the whole FTA thing and I'm trying to learn Dutch, so this seemed like the perfect thing to shoot for. My dish arrived today, I know what I'll be obsessed with this weekend :).

For trying to learn Dutch, I highly recommend the Dutch Version of Sesame Street - the time recently changed so I don't know when it's on, but it is a blast :)

Help

Can someone please tell me what kind of dish, how big it needs to be and the type of LNB I need to use to receive the Dutch channel on AMC 4? Thank you for your help.

You need a dish that is larger than 31" (36" or 39" is recommended) and you need a Standard or Universal LNB. You also need a FTA receiver.

Help

Thank you for your quick reply. I used to have the Dutch channel, of course, paying a monthly fee, and they were using a 500 dish and a dish pro LNB when this channel was on Telstar 12. But now I understand that it is only on AMC 4. Do you know if someone have try using the same equipment I mentioned above to try to get it on AMC 4?

read the above. It won't work
-The dish is too small
-The LNB is not the right kind
-you need a FTA box to view it along with a KU LNB and a 30" dish
