Hi all,

I'm new here, but I am working on building a small radio observatory at my university. I am looking into buying a non-penetrating roof mount and 10 ft dish from satellitedish.com. However, I was curious if anyone has had experience with them since I am a little concerned with forking over $2500 to a company I am not familiar with. I did see on Google street view that the store does exist and they had a couple complaints on the BBB website.

Thanks!

Welcome astro_ogre :welcome2

Not familiar with this company and I have been in the business for many years. Much of the equipment listed on the site is old stock and out of production. Seems to be a very old site that is not frequently updated.

For a commercial dish, it would be better to deal with a known reseller such as Satellite Engineering Group or directly with a manufacture such as Superior Satellite Engineers, DH Satellite, Baird Mounts, Chaparral, etc.

Welcome to the site!!!
Yep, that appears to be an old site that was left up. One of those cases where the lights are on but no one is home.

For the mount, call Baird directly and get a PL-2. They can help you select the best model depending upon your ballast needs.

Depends upon price of dish and what accessories are being included. NPRM mount for 10' dish whether it be Rohn, Baird, etc is ~1400.
