My local NBC has decided to show a 3 hour pre-Preakness show rather than the NHL playoff game. I've called DirecTV about showing the game on one of the Center Ice channels as well, but two CSRs I talked to told the game would also be shown on Versus, 608. Of course this was totally untrue. My question is can anyone suggest who I might ask to talk to at DirecTV as opposed to the first CSR? It shouldn't be that hard to simulcast a show on one of the Center Ice stations for those of us that bought the package, but whose NBC is retarded. Thanks.

DirecTV and/or Dish do not make programming decisions. they are only companies that retransmit signals from the program providers. I see the game on NBC with my DirecTV so it sounds as if your complaint should be directed toward the NHL and your local NBC affiliate.

I'm not complaining about DirecTV. Trust me, my anger is directed at NBC Baltimore. I was hoping that DirecTV could help out and show the game on another channel as well.

Yep, sorry it doesn't work that easy. They (DirecTV/Dish) have contracts/carriage agreements and if a channel they carry decides not to show something, they have no rights to just retrans another or additional channel on a whim. I would REALLY love for you to call your local and post what their excuse is for this BS.

the hockey game went into overtime. nbc has a contractual obligation to show the preakness. they said they would break into preakness coverage when the hockey game is over.

OHHHHH! Thats new info, I thought he said the game itself was not being shown; not that they just ran out of alloted time and switched to the next program.

I swear, this was the same thing from DBStalk.

No one mentioned it was on CBC, which didn't cut away.

NBC, really shows how far hockey has fallen in the US. Fortunately, I can pick up channel 4 (washington nbc feed) in hd so I could watch the game. But don't think the local ABC affiliate was any better 2 years ago when they had the nhl playoff games. Then, ABC channel 2 in baltimore showed a lacrosse game over a round 2 nhl playoff game. We need the NHL Network, although the baltimore affiliate would probably opt for alternate programming.

P.S. yes, i know there would be no local affiliate for the nhl network.

hate to agree with you but you do make a great point. i really think in the fall, i will subscribe to center ice for the first time, just to see some games!
