BSC 621 LNBF and BSC 621-2 LNBF differences

I hope this will help you all understand the difference between the two LNBFs. I got this info from Sadoun site:

BSC 621 LNBF:

Special for diginal C and integrated STANDARD KU Band satellite reception
C Band: 3.4 GHz ^ 4.2 GHz
STANDARD Ku Band: 11.7GHz ^ 12.2 GHz

BSC 621-2 LNBF:

Special for diginal and intregrated UNIVERSAL Ku Band satellite reception
Extended frequency:
C Band: 3.4 GHz ^ 4.2 GHz
UNIVERSAL Ku Band: 10.7 GHz ^ 12.75 GHz
(NOTE: Make sure your receiver support Universal LNBFs)

The thing I found is that some sites send you to the installation guide for the BSC 621-2 when you click the link for the BSC 621. There is another difference between the two (which I had backwards until linuxman pointed it out to me today). The BSC 621 has a built in 0/22k tone switch to switch between C band and KU. The BSC 621-2 has a built in 2 port disecq to switch between to 2 bands. That subtle difference can wreak havock on your wiring setup if you are not careful.

Yea, I'd say that'd mess up your switch designs.

The manuals on both LNBFs are identical, when I downloaded both from Sadoun's website. Same everything.
I bought the BSC 621-2 from Rick's Satellite. He was nice to write on the box the settings for the DiseQc switch so I won't get confused. I will install it very soon with my 5 foot Wilson aluminun (solid) dish and arm driven by the V-box.

On the following web page, it mentions something about some receivers and the Lo settings. Maybe some receivers do not have a Ku high/low setting or maybe the receiver Ku setting is fixed?

I think they are talking about another LNBF that does the same thing as the BSC 621-2 but with different Ku Lo/C band settings.
