I hardly notice the Arrow when it's there.
The stupid advertising banners in the guide are still annoying though.

Got rid of it. Menu, settings, display, preferences, recording tips.

Is there anyway to stop Genie from displaying "press record to record this program" everytime I change channels?

I thought the work around was to have 5 "series" recordings set up in the guide. That makes it so that popup doesnt show up
I could have sworn when I had D* that is what we told folks to do.

oh, it was. And that prompted me to look again in settings. Had to scroll once to get recording tips on screen which I didn't do before. Duh...............

Yeah but then you can only watch one of those 5 recordings and then your deleting stuff constantly and who wants to record 5 things at once 24/7 just to omit a message and have to constantly do cleanup and setting up new recordings?
