My first time posting here (I think), but I do read here often.
Wanted to mention to everyone... especially in the dark days of winter solstice season... If you notice a broadcast tower with non or malfunctioning safety lighting, to please let the owner know asap. Usually they will have a web contact page with an actual email address, or even a phone number. They may already know of the problem, but it won't hurt, especially if they are not aware of the issue. You could save lives!
Drove by a tower last night that had no lights at all, right in the middle of the prairies and in the fog. The people at the local PBS were happy to hear about it, they already knew and had informed the FAA etc, and have riggers scheduled to repair the problem asap.
Sorry if I am a bit off-topic, but I know most of you do look at these things when driving along!
Merry Christmas to all!
